Title:
TWO-TANK TYPE ARC FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3310502
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve preheat efficiency through sufficient ensurance of the flow of preheat gas and to ensure opening without maintenance by a method wherein the furnace cover of the molten steel output nozzle of an arc furnace is coupled to an exhaust gas introduction gas and an exhaust duct is disposed in the work port on the molten steel output nozzle side of the arc nozzle.
SOLUTION: A furnace A and a furnace B are two arc furnaces, making a pair, and a furnace cover 4 through which scrap is charged in a furnace is disposed at the upper part of a furnace body 1. Exhaust gas passes an exhaust gas introduction duct 8 through which the furnace cores 4 of the furnaces A and B are coupled together and is fed from a melt side to the preheat side. After scrap with which the furnace B is filled is preheated, exhaust gas exhaust gas is drawn from an exhaust gas outlet 10, formed in the lower part of the furnace body 1, through an exhaust gas duct to a dust collector. A position relation between the position of a gas nozzle 30 of the furnace cover 4 of the exhaust gas introduction duct 8 and the exhaust gas outlet 10 provided in the lower end of the furnace body 1 is such that the two members are positioned far away from each other as much as possible from the preheating efficiency of scrap. Further, scrap in the furnace body is brought into a state to be uniformly preheated.
