Abstract:
To provide an A-type heavy oil excellent in low temperature performances, and to provide an evaluation method by which the low temperature performances of an A-type heavy oil can simply be evaluated with a small amount of a specimen in a short time.
This A-type heavy oil is characterized in that a solid phase hydrogen rate represented by an expression (2) is ≤0.5% in a correlation curve represented by an expression (1) and obtained by measuring the relaxation time of hydrogen atoms in the A-type heavy oil by a pulse NMR method at a temperature of -20°C. I(t)=IS(t)+IL(t) (1), wherein t is an elapsed time from a hydrogen atom excitation time; I(t), IS(t), and IL(t) are signal intensities corresponding to the energies of hydrogen atoms contained in the whole, solid phase component, and liquid phase component of the A-type heavy oil, respectively, at the elapse of time t. The solid phase hydrogen ratio (%)=[IS(0)/I(0)]×100 (2), wherein IS(0) and I(0) are the values of IS(t) and I(t) at t=0, respectively.
