To provide a U-shape strainer which is used for separating and removing solid foreign matter in fluid flowing through various kinds of pipelines and is capable of simply removing a cover body from a strainer main body.
The U-shape strainer is provided with a screen 8 mounted freely attachably and detachably between a primary side passage 4 and a secondary side passage 5 which are disposed in a main body 1, a take-out port 9 of the screen 8 formed on the main body 1 and a cover body 10 mounted on the take-out port 9. Therein, screws 18, 18a are freely retractably disposed on the corresponding surface 10C to the end surface 9a of the take-out port 9a in the cover body 10, thereby, when the cover body 10 is removed from the main body 1, the screws 18, 18a are protruded from the corresponding surface 10C and the cover body 10 is pushed up from the end surface 9a of the take-out port.
