Title:
ULTRA CLEAR PRINTING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3842313
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the halftone processing fidelity of a xerographic printer.
CONSTITUTION: In a halftone circuit 70, gray scale data input 197 decides which one of the 256 pieces of dot planes of a memory 190 is to be accessed. Accumulators 194 and 196 provide the (x) and (y) components of a screen address used for the rotation of a screen and the address information indicates the position of a laser spot 200 on (x) and (y) planes. The respective accumulators provide the memory 190 with most significant 5 bits as (x) and (y) addresses and cyclically roll over at the (x) and (y) and thus, halftone cells are duplicated in a regular two-dimensional array on the entire image area. In the meantime, intensity is changed, a different dot layer is accessed and the density of images is changed. A D/A conversion circuit makes the laser spot possess the intensity required for the rendering of halftone dots based on obtained data.
