Title:
超高速データレートソリトン再生装置
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP4016093
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
The soliton signal is coupled by an input coupler (2) to an NOLM (3) and separated into opposing signals.. Two laser signals (12, 13) are combined (10) and optically amplified (13) to provide a beat signal which modulates the NOLM through a coupler (6). An electronic control (15), preferably operating at half the soliton signal frequency, acts as a phase-locked loop to one of the lasers to maximise the mean power of a modulated soliton. An alternative uses an optical phase-locked loop with an optical phase comparator of the incoming reference signal and the variable laser. The comparator output passes through a low-pass filter and low frequency diode which guides the electronic control of the variable laser.
