Title:
ULTRASONIC CATHETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3954888
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic catheter capable of efficiently eliminating bubbles remaining inside with a small amount of water flow, and simultaneously achieving the thinning of a catheter and the formulation of an ultrasonic image.
SOLUTION: This ultrasonic catheter 1 comprises a sheath 2 inserted from a tip into a body cavity or a tube cavity, and provided with a channel in which the ultrasonic transmission liquid flows from a basic end side to a tip side, a hub 3 mounted at the basic end side of the sheath 2 to inject the ultrasonic transmission liquid into the sheath 2, a driving shaft 42 mounted in the channel and transmitting the mechanical driving force from the basic end side to the tip side, and an ultrasonic transducer 41 mounted on a tip of the driving shaft 42. The channel is formed in such manner that its clearance with respect to an outer periphery of the driving shaft 42 mounted inside, is small at the tip where the ultrasonic transducer is mounted, in comparison with the basic end of the sheath 2.
