To correctly separate a strip from a web from start to finish.
A cutting device is provided with an ultrasonic knife, a holder, an upper side floating roller assembly 30, a roller anvil assembly, an upper side material separating device, and a lower side material separating device. These elements are supported by a traverse carriage 12 to be moved along a rail. The roller anvil and the upper side floating roller 30 are provided with a plurality of rollers 66 so supported as to be approached to the cutting knife 50 and as to be freely and independently rotated, so as to accurately position a web of an unhardened rubber material and so as to constitute a separating device for separatingly keeping the edge of the material in advancing the cutting operation. A strip having the specified length is cut from the web of an unhardened rubber material by the cutting knife.
