To improve the efficiency in ultrasonic examination on a lesion area within a lumen.
A lesion area candidate detection part 25 detects a lesion area candidate present in an intraluminal wall region based on the shape of the intraluminal wall region included in a perspective projected image on a three-dimensional region including a living organ with a lumen of a subject. A scan condition determining part 29 determines a scanning region narrower than the three-dimensional region with the detected lesion area candidate region as an object. A scanning part 41 scans the determined scanning region via an ultrasonic probe. An image generation part 21 or a three-dimensional image processing part 23 generates ultrasonic image data on the scanning region based on an echo signal from the ultrasonic probe 3. A display part 31 displays the generated ultrasonic image.
