To improve operability in oblique scanning.
An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprises scan means, tomographic image data generation means, spectrum image data generation means, display control means, movement means and angle change means. The scan means scans a cross-sectional plane with first and second ultrasonic beams. Each data generation means generates tomographic image data and spectrum image data on the basis of a reception signal obtained for each scan. The display control means causes a display section to display a screen that contains a tomographic image and a Doppler spectrum image corresponding to respective data with a range gate marker arranged on the tomographic image. The movement means moves a range gate position by moving the marker. The angle change means changes an inclination angle of a second ultrasonic beam with respect to a normal direction of a probe surface such that the range gate position is included in a scannable region of the second ultrasonic beam when the range gate position is moved outside the scannable region thereof.
