PURPOSE: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which enables even an inexperienced operator to use the probe by remote control.
CONSTITUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus consists of a main body 1 which performs the signal processing necessary for creating the sectional image, a probe 3 which can optionally specifies the two-dimentional scanning section at the control signal from the outside of the probe, a scan-area specifying device 4 which specifies the two-dimentional section to be scanned by the probe, and two indicators. The first indicator is installed in the same place as an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus main body 1 as well as a probe 3, while the second indicator 5 is installed in the same place as a scan-area specifying device 4, which is connected, along with the second indicator 5, to the diagnostic apparatus main body 1 through a data transmitting device 6. As a result, it becomes possible to take sectional picture even when the operator of the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus is away from the patient.
