PURPOSE: To realize an ultrasonic inspecting apparatus which can efficiently inspect the mixture of various kinds of works.
CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is provided with master works 11-19 corresponding to any one of a plurality of groups based on the material and the thickness and whose material and thickness are already known, and a table 43 wherein data of measuring conditions and adjusting conditions are arranged corresponding to the groups of the master works 11-19. If the group of an actual work 1 is different from the group at the time of the previous inspection and within the table 43, a master work is measured with ultrasonic waves according to the data of measuring conditions and adjusting conditions corresponding to the group, thereby to adjust the measuring sensitivity.
