To provide an ultrasonic inspection apparatus capable of increasing the SN ratio in the whole image including a region near a focal point so as to improve the resolution, and obtaining a sharp ultrasonic image having the optimum spatial resolution with high resolution still with a frame rate as before.
It is determined whether or not the distance between a data calculation point and a transmission focal point is in a predetermined range, and when the distance to the transmission focal point is determined to be outside of the predetermined range, an ultrasonic beam is supposed to be a convergence wave, and a plurality of first element data are superposed. When the distance to the transmission focal point is determined to be within the predetermined range, the ultrasonic beam is supposed to be a plane wave, and the plurality of first element data are superposed to generate second element data corresponding to the data calculation point.
