Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic observation system which can use an ultrasonic probe with an ultrasonic vibrator capable of projecting ultrasonic waves across a wide range of frequency band without changing the constitution of a conventional ultrasonic observation system.
SOLUTION: The ultrasonic vibrator of this ultrasonic probe 2 has characteristics of a wide range of frequency band. Thus, the vibrator is equipped with a frequency switching mechanism part 50 so as to enable an operator to suitably switch and set a frequency. When the frequency switching mechanism part 50 is operated to change the position of a lever part, the position of a reflector equipped on the shell part is changed to change detection signals inputted into a detection circuit 46 from photoreflectors. Thus the detection circuit 46 outputs an instruction signal to switch and set a frequency to a frequency switching circuit 47 and the frequency switching circuit 47 switches the frequency of a drive signal applied on the ultrasonic vibrator from the transmission circuit of a send and receive circuit 41.
