Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe using a substrate which can bend in accordance with the curve of a body face by arranging and installing respective vibration pieces constituting the ultrasonic probe on the flexible substrate and providing sensors detecting the flexibility of the substrate at least on a part of the substrate.
SOLUTION: Seven vibration pieces 101-117 and 121-127 are made into groups and they are adhere to an elastic metallic plate 6 in a line. The resistance values of resistors 41-44 being bend detection sensors which are mad into pairs on the surface and the back of the elastic metallic plate 6 and which are adhered to the middle points of the adjacent groups of the vibration pieces change when they are pulled. Then, the resistance values of the resistors 41 and 43 change when the elastic metallic plate 6 is bent and pulled. The change of the resistance value of the resistors 41 or 42 is used for calculating the flexibility of the elastic metallic plate 6 to which the group of the vibration piece 101-107 and the group of the vibration piece 111-117 are adhered, and the change of the resistance value of the resistor 43 or 44 for calculating the flexibility of the elastic metallic plate 6 to which the group of the vibration pieces 111-117 and the group of the vibration pieces 121-127 are adhered.
