Thereby, the transducers 222 to which the filters 242 are connected respectively can be distributed uniformly over the whole array 230. The transducer 222 forming a transmission aperture is selected from the group of transducers 222 to which the filters 242 are connected. Accordingly, the drive signal given to the transducer 222 has only a basic component with the elimination of high frequency components by the filter 242.
