Abstract:
To provide an ultraviolet absorber that permits diversity of living things, preservation of inhabitation, as well as an effective use and sustainable management of natural resource, and to provide a method of manufacturing the ultraviolet absorber.SOLUTION: There is provided an ultraviolet absorber that contains an extract extracted from bamboo as an active component. The ultraviolet absorber has a high absorption effect for both UVA and UVB. Therefore, by expanding the utilization method of the bamboo to a use for absorbing ultraviolet rays, such as use of bamboo as an ingredient of a sunscreen, an increase in bamboo groves area is suppressed, thereby inhibiting bamboo damage. An ultraviolet absorption effect increases in this ascending order of distilled water, normal temperature, ultrasonic irradiation, and heating.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
