Title:
ULTRAVIOLET-RAY DETECTING PIPE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3919265
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the ultraviolet-ray detecting pipe having the stable ultraviolet detecting sensitivity.
SOLUTION: In an ultraviolet-ray detecting pipe 1, an anode 6 and a cathode 8 made of metal are arranged in close proximity in a sealed container 2, wherein discharging gas is sealed. Discharging is generated between the anode 6 and the cathode 8 by the ultraviolet rays inputted into the sealed container in the ultraviolet-ray detecting pipe 1. In this pipe 1, an electric insulating spacer 10 is arranged between the cathode 8 and the anode 6. The interval of a discharging gap C between the cathode 8 and the anode 6 is specified by the spacer 10. The stable discharging is formed between the electrodes 6 and 8. The input of the ultraviolet rays is sensed by observing the current caused by the discharging. Even when shock and vibration are applied on the detecting pipe from the outside, the cathode 8 and the anode 6 are not brought into contact, and the defective operation does not occur.
