Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quickly cure ultraviolet-curing resin, by providing a quartz-base glass pipe having prescribed transmittance and projecting ultraviolet rays on optical fiber coated with ultraviolet-curing resin which is passed in the atmosphere of inert gas introduced into the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A quartz-base glass pipe 9 having ≥90% transmittance for ≥250nm wavelength is provided. The inside of this glass pipe 9 is made to the inert gas atmosphere and optical fiber 7 coated with ultraviolet-curing resin is passed therein. Ultraviolet rays are projected from an ultraviolet lamp 10 through the glass pipe 9. Thereby the ultraviolet-curing resin covered on the surface of the above-mentioned fiber 7 is cured.
