This ultraviolet screening particles are the ones obtained by combining and integrating particles A obtained by coating a hydrated oxide of aluminum or the like on the surface of particles of titanium oxide or the like, with a calcium phosphate-based compound, and are excellent in absorbing (screening) activities of ultraviolet rays. This ultraviolet screening particles are obtained by dispersing the particles A in a suspension of calcium hydroxide, regulating the pH so as to be 9-11 by an aqueous solution of phosphoric acid to provide the slurry having the ultraviolet screening properties, and drying the obtained slurry. The cosmetic contains the ultraviolet screening particles or the slurry.
