Abstract:
To provide a UV system and a method that improve upon areas such as a power efficiency, an output, versatility, and component lifespan.SOLUTION: A UV system (10) for irradiating a base material (26) has a lamp head (16) with an enclosure having an inside. A UV bulb (24) is positioned in the inside and can emit a UV energy when excited by RF energy. The UV system (10) also includes a solid RF source (12) which can generate the RF energy. The RF energy is transmitted to the UV bulb (24) so that the UV bulb (24) is ignited and the UV energy is emitted from the inside of the lamp head (16).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
