PURPOSE: To enhance the cushioning performance and achieve an improved sense of surface unevenness by laminating a base material, polyurethane foam layer, non-woven cloth layer, and facial material one over another so that a joining body of consolidated structure is formed, generating surface unevenness on a pad, and fixing the form of unevenness.
CONSTITUTION: A facial material 1, non-woven cloth layer 2, polyurethane foam layer 3, and base material 4 are laminated to form an underlay pad, which is consolidated by a quilting 5 in the form of a joining body. On the pad a surface unevenness is generated, which is increased by the base material 4 shrunk on the basis of shrinkage of the constituent threads, and the form of unevenness on the pad is fixed by the non-woven cloth layer 2 to which the contained low-melting point fibers are fusion attached. According to this constitution in which shrinkage of the pad is made by the use of the shrinking force of the whole base material 4, the surface is given a uniform unevenness with a large degree of unevenness. Further because the form of unevenness is fixed by the fusion attachment of the low-melting point fibers in the non- woven cloth layer 2, a high cushioning performance and a fine sense of surface unevenness are obtained.
