Title:
UNDERSEA BRANCHING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3687073
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable connections of a plurality of undersea stations to a single landing station in parallel, by providing a submarine branching apparatus for branching a submarine optical cable, so that improvement of reliability of the system and cost reduction are realized.
SOLUTION: Two feeding wires 14, 15 are connected to a feeding wire 12, to be connected to a DC feeding device 32 of a landing station 21 via a submarine branching device 25. The device 25 has current stabilizing circuits 26, 27 respectively connected to two branch terminals of a branching line. When disconnection occurs in one of the wires 14, 15, the device 32 detects a rise of a voltage and reduces the output voltage to a predetermined value. The current stabilizing circuit connected to the normal feeding wire continues feeding, regardless of the disconnection of one of the feeding wire. When grounding occurs in the wires 14, 15, feeding is carried out in the same way as in the normal case.
