This underwater welding nozzle 1 has a gas feed port 8 to feed a shielding gas to a nozzle tip part 2. A cylindrical shield wall 9 is protruded from a tip of a nozzle tip part 2, and a space inside the shield wall 9 forms a pressure chamber 10 for forming a cavity part filled with the shielding gas fed from the gas feed port 8. An ejection port 11 for ejecting curtain water in a skirt manner is provided on the outer circumferential side of the shield wall 9 at the nozzle tip part 2, and a space between a water curtain W formed by the curtain water ejected from the ejection port 11 and the shield wall 9 forms a buffer chamber 14.
