To provide a unit type storage closet split into upper/lower (two) stages and having a specification capable of being suitably fitted in a western/japanese style room of a modern house utilizing the function and tradition of an Oshiire (a closet) by solving the problems that a conventional Oshiire (closet) with two fusumas (papered sliding screen) are not convenient to use, is structurally poor in storage function and is inevitably opened fully from the top to the bottom.

An Oshiire (closet) space together with side plates 15a-15d is horizontally split into the upper/lower stages by an intermediate panel part 1, and the lower stage is vertically split at the vertically-erected center into two by an inner partition panel 2 supporting the weight of a center stage. Three openings formed by above partitioning are each provided with a hinged door. A built-in drawer 10 and a movable shelf 12 capable of being drawn to the near side are installed, and a shelf 13 with a full width is installed in the other side. The closet described above is made into a whole closet unit, and can be installed as a built-in unit when a house is built or reformed.
