To provide a universal joint for a continuous handrail capable of coping with the connecting angle of handrail members and being simple in structure to facilitate handrail mounting operation.
For the universal joint continuously interconnecting two handrail members, the following means are used: first, semicircular cut connecting members are used with their cut planes abutting each other; second, a fitting receiving part having an inclination in the direction of insertion of the handrail members is used for the cut planes; third, a slot is formed from the axis of one of the connecting members to the axis of the other connecting member; fourth, the slot is formed in a size that forms a gap between itself and a rotation fixing screw, with the opening of the slot formed in a diameter smaller than the diameter of the head of the screw; fifth, the screw is inserted into the other connecting member through the slot and is fixed in place after the angles of both fitting parts are adjusted.
