Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the quality of output pictures in both magnification and reduction by obtaining more sharpening effects in the case of the magnification in a variable magnification processing and eliminating moire fringes in the case of the reduction.
CONSTITUTION: Edge emphasis coefficients and smoothing coefficients are stored corresponding to respective variable power rates in a memory A210 and the memory B211 and the respective appropriate coefficients are selected from the memory A210 and the memory B211 corresponding to the variable power rate specified in a variable power specifying part 205. The edge emphasis coefficient is set in a filtering processing part A206 and the smoothing coefficient is set in the filtering processing part B208 in the case of a magnification processing, they are set inversely in the case of a reduction processing and the variable magnification processing is performed in a variable magnification processing part 207.
