A slide member 11 is vertically movable on a body of a press by an elevating/lowering driving means. A holder fixing member 23 provided with a first holding part 27 to hold a shank 19 of an upper die is provided on a lower part of the slide member 11. A slide cap 47 is provided with a second holding part 53 at the position opposite to the first holding part 27, and can be freely advanced/retracted along a guide member 29 projected on the holder fixing member 23. A stopper member 31 is provided on a rear part of the guide member 29, the second holding part 53 of the slide cap 47 is advanced by a slide cap moving means 61 making use of the reaction on the stopper member 31, and the shank 19 of the upper die 17 is held in cooperation with the first holding part 27.
