Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a nozzle clogging caused by deoxidized material in steel and solidified steel for a long period by forming coated layer containing at least zirconia, carbon and silicon carbide on the inner hole wall for passing molten steel.
CONSTITUTION: The nozzle 10 has a zirconia grapite layer 16 composed mainly of zirconia, carbon and silicon carbide on the wall face in the inner hole 14 in such a nozzle body 12. The zirconia-graphite layer 16 has low wettability with the deoxidized material in the molten steel, and since stickiness and piling thereof to the wall face in the inner hole 14 are prevented, the nozzle clogging is not developed for a long period.
