An upper roller-supporting and loading arm for the draft mechanism of a spinning machine is provided. The arm includes an adjusting device (4) equipped with a U-shaped support body (1) opening downward to which at least one slider (2, 20, 30) is arranged, and a load element (5), a holder (3) receiving the upper roller and the sliders (2, 20, 30) are able to move in the longitudinal direction against the support body (1) and are able to be fixed on the upper surface (9) of the support body (1). In the arm, the sliders (2, 20, 30) abuts on the inner side surface (7) of the U-shaped support body (1) through at least one side surface (8, 9, 21) in order to fix the sliders not to be rotatable relative to a high-axis of the sliders (2, 20, 30) on the inside of the support body (1).
