To provide a plant for solidifying urban refuse, where urban refuse, in which high-water-content materials and low-water-content materials are mixed, is treated suitably to produce high-quality solidified fuel.
Urban refuse, in which high-water-content materials such as garbage and low-water-content materials such as used paper and plastics are mixed, is crushed by a screw crusher 2. The crushed refuse is sorted by a trommel shifter 3 into large-sized refuse larger than the standard size and small-sized refuse smaller than the standard size. The small-sized refuse of high water content is dried and deodorized in a vacuum fermentation dryer 4. The dried/deodorized small-sized refuse is sorted by a screen 14 into large-particle refuse and small-particle refuse. The large-sized refuse of low water content is crushed secondarily by another screw crusher 5 and the secondarily-crushed refuse is dried by hot air in a hot air dryer 6. Noncombustibles are sorted and removed from a mixture of the large-particle refuse, the small-particle refuse and the secondarily-crushed refuse by using wind force sorters 15, 18, 111, magnetic sorters 16, 112 and nonferrous metal separators 17, 113. The noncombustible-removed mixture is kneaded, compressed, extruded and molded by an extrusion molding machine 7 to produce solidified fuel.
