Abstract:

To provide a gas which can be used with a laser beam of up to 8kW and generate low temperature metallic plasma to reduce generation of NOx.

This helium/nitrogen gas mixture comprises a binary gas mixture composed of nitrogen of 60 to 80 vol.% and helium in balance. The gas mixture is used to weld steel, stainless steel or titanium.
