To provide new use of glycoside of mono- and diacylglycerol, for example, 3-β-D-galactopyranosyloxy-2-(octadeca-9Z, 12Z, 15Z-trienoyloxy)propanyl octadeca-9Z, 12Z, 15Z-trienoate which is a component of rose-hips (fruits of Rosa canina L.).

It is found that glycosides of diacylglycerol isolated from extracts of rose-hips, for example 3-β-D-galactopyranosyloxy-2-(octadeca-9Z, 12Z, 15Z-trienoyloxy)propanyl octadeca-9Z, 12Z, 15Z-trienoate (GOPO) (A) can be used as an anti-inflammatory agent for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and osteoarthrosis.
