A utensil for work includes a pair of column supports 2 which are separated from each other in the right and left directions, and erected on a floor, a top plate 3 for work disposed between a pair of the column supports, and a plurality of hollow lateral connection members 4, 5 fixed between the column supports, allowing taking out of at least any one of the wire and pipe. The column support has a hollow column support body 20 formed with a vertically extended space E1 for wiring therein, and a cover member 21 detachably fixed to the side of the column support body, and forming a vertically extended space E2 for pipes between the column support body and itself. The column support body is formed with communication holes 20c, 20d laterally penetrating through the column support body and communicating the inside space of the lateral connection member with the space of the column support body, and a space formed with the cover member through the communication holes.
