A plurality of sets of V grooves 12, each of which has a plurality of V grooves 12 for positioning a plurality of optical fibers 21 of one tape- like secondary coated optical fiber 20, are formed on a substrate 11. V grooves 12 in each set 13 are formed with the same pitch as an arrangement pitch a of optical fibers 21 of the tape-like secondary coated optical fiber. A center interval b between the innermost V grooves 12 of adjacent sets 13 of V grooves is set twice as long as ((the thickness of a coating 22 of the side face of the tape-like coated optical fiber)+(the radius of optical fibers)). Tops 14 between innermost V grooves of adjacent sets of V grooves are made higher than tops 15 between V groves 12 in each set. Thus all the optical fibers 21 of a plurality of tape-like secondary coated optical fibers 20 can be naturally dropped to V grooves 12 and can be easily collectively spliced.
