Abstract:
To provide a method for temporarily fixing individual sheets of a printing medium variably determined in size to a platen face with the use of a vacuum means generating a vacuum force.
The clamping tool prepares a platen face 111 through which a plurality of individual vacuum ports 113 penetrate. Each port is provided with gate means 105 and 107 for opening/closing the vacuum ports thereby separating the port to an exterior area and an interior area. In this case, the gate means is biased to an open position against an atmospheric pressure of the exterior area, and the platen face has a length and a breadth for sequentially storing printing media of different sizes.
