Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a vacuum cleaner equipped with a dust bag absence- preventive device which allows attaching a dust bag in the upper opening of a dust collecting chamber when a lid of the dust collecting chamber is turned but prevents it from being attached when the lid is slid into the dust collecting chamber from front.
CONSTITUTION: When a lid 7 of a dust collecting chamber 2 is slid into the dust collecting chamber 2 with a dust bag unattached, a protrusion 14 of the lid 7 comes into contact with a contact part 18 of the dust collecting chamber 2 to keep the rear edge of the lid 7 from coming in close contact with the rear edge of the dust collecting chamber 2, so that a lock device remains unlocked. Thereby, the lid 7 is prevented from being shut, and a user notices that a dust bag should be attached. When the lid 7 is turned and set in the dust collecting chamber 2 after the dust bag is attached, the protrusion 14 is inserted in a recessed catch 16 of the dust collecting chamber 2 and the rear edge of the lid 7 comes in close contact with the rear edge of the dust collecting chamber 2 without the lid 7 loosened, so that the lock device engages. Thus, the lid 7 can be mounted on the dust collecting chamber 2.
