PURPOSE: To provide a quiet vacuum cleaner by muffling greatly an exhaust sound of a motor fan.

CONSTITUTION: By constituting the vacuum cleaner so that an exhaust port 3a of a motor 3 is positioned under a ventilation port 8a of a soundproof cylinder 8 for covering the motor 3, exhaust air of a motor fan 4 goes out of the exhaust port 3a and comes into collision with an inner soundproof material 9, and thereafter, goes up, passes through the inner soundproof material 9, the ventilation port 8a, and an outer soundproof material 11 and is exhausted, therefore, the muffling effect is large, and the vacuum cleaner scarcely generating a noise and being quiet is obtained.
