PURPOSE: To fix a getter to locally heat the getter alone so as to activate it by fixing the getter to the inside of a chip tube by means of a washer or spring shape getter holding tool.

CONSTITUTION: A vacuum container comprises a package lower plate 1 made of glass, an upper plate 2 made of glass, and a wall material 3 made of glass, and a getter 5 is fixed to the inside of an exhausting chip tube 6 mounted on the vacuum container with a getter holding tool 9 made of Mo wire worked into a spring form. The chip tube 6 is formed of a glass tube which is transparent against white light, and the getter is locally heated by an incandescent light source 10 and a light converging device 11 provided outside of the container, so as to activate the getter 5.
