PURPOSE: To simplify a configuration of a device and simplify a maintenance of the device by a method wherein a mechanism for separating a cooling mechanism from a specimen during rotation of the specimen is provided.
CONSTITUTION: A specimen 1 is stored within a specimen storing part 2. When the specimen 1 is rotated around an axis of a specimen supporting rod 3, a knob 13 for an up-down mechanism 5 is rotated, the specimen supporting rod 3 is displaced downwardly, the specimen storing part 2 and a refrigerant reservoir 10 are separated, thereafter a rotation introducing element 11 is driven to rotate the specimen 1. During cooling operation other than rotation, the specimen supporting rod 3 is pulled up, a low temperature of the refrigerant is transmitted to the specimen 1 while the specimen storing part 2 and the refrigerant reservoir 10 are being contacted so as to perform a translational movement or a measurement. In this way, a mechanism for separating the specimen from the cooling mechanism only when the rotation is carried out is provided to enable the device itself to be simplified and further facilitate a maintenance of the device.
