Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a vessel light in weight by constructing a metal vessel part in double structure, and furnishing a support in the space nipped thereby.
CONSTITUTION: A face plate 1 made of glass is adhered to an interior metal- coated vessel 2 by the use of frit 3, while an exterior metal-coated vessel adhered to the outside of the interior metal-coated vessel 2 with a support 5 interposed. The face plate 1 is made of soda glass having undergone a surface strengthening treatment, while the two vessels 2, 4 made of a substance prepared from 42-6 alloy subjected to a die contraction process. This accomplishes lightweight construction of an electron tube, particularly a flat plate type display device.
