PURPOSE: To propose a mechanism for effectively washing a filter cloth while it is at a standstill in a vacuum filter constituted so that the filter cloth may intermittently travel to form a multile cake layer on the filter cloth.
CONSTITUTION: In a filter cloth washer 9, washing water is fed from a washing water tank to two washing nozzles 9C provided side by side through a solenoid valve 9A and a flexible hose. The filter cloth washer 9 is driven and reciprocated by a cylinder 9D prescribed times, for example, once along the traveling direction of the filter cloth 1. Since the two washing nozzles 9C are formed side by side, the reciprocating distance of the filter cloth washer 9 may be about a half the traveling distance L1 of the filter cloth 1 a time.
