To provide a vacuum heat-insulating material in which a fibrous material having a high tensile strength is used as core material, thus bending and breaking of the fibers are hard to occur even though being compressed under atmospheric pressure, resistance to compression of the fiber aggregate is improved, the atmospheric pressure can be held at less number of contact points of fibers, and an improved heat-insulating performance is imparted.
The vacuum heat-insulating material 1 comprises the core material 2 formed of fibrous material. The core material 2 is covered with an external material 3, and the inside is evacuated. Since fibers having a tensile strength of at least 0.5 GPa are contained in the fibrous material, the vacuum heat-insulating material 1 has improved performance, and cost-reduction of the core material 2 is achieved.
