Abstract:
To produce a high melting point metallic body having high purity.SOLUTION: A vacuum heating device comprises a vacuum vessel, an exhaust mechanism, a stage and a pedestal. The exhaust mechanism exhausts gas in the vacuum vessel. The stage is provided at the inside of the vacuum vessel. The pedestal is mounted on the stage. The pedestal can support a high melting point metallic oxide and a carbon-containing molded body. The pedestal includes: an upper edge part to be contacted with the molded body; and a lower edge part to be contacted with the stage. In the pedestal, a first space part is formed in a space with the molded body by contacting the upper edge part with the molded body, and a second space part is formed in a space with the stage by contacting the lower edge part with the stage.
