To provide a vacuum melting device which can reduce labor and time when a crucible is constructed, and to provide a crucible unit used in the vacuum melting device.
The vacuum melting device 10 having the crucible unit, in which the raw material of at least 50 kg in terms of Fe is inductively heated and is melted by conducting high frequency current through a coil 120 in a vacuum-sucked chamber 20, includes: an outer crucible 140 which is arranged in an air-core part 125 of the coil 120 and is made of ceramic in quality of material; and an inner crucible 150 which is arranged on an inner cylinder part 144 of the outer crucible 140 and is made of ceramic in quality of material, wherein the inner crucible 150 is formed with the ceramic as quality of material, in which the thermal expansion coefficient is larger than that of the outer crucible 140 and the gap size S, between the inner cylindrical surface 144a of the outer crucible 140 and the outer circumferential surface 153a of the inner crucible 150, is set into such a state that a pressure is applied from the outer crucible 140 side to the inner crucible 150 side, in the thermal expansion upon the melting of the raw material.
