To provide a valve gear capable of regulating useless elongation of a rash adjuster while compactizing a device by an inclined structure of a rocker arm.
The valve gear is equipped with a driving cam 5 to which a rotating driving force is transmitted from a camshaft 4, a roller mechanism 15 for receiving rotating force of the driving cam, and a rocker arm 6 in which each end 6a abuts on a stem end of each intake valve 3, 3 and the other end 6b rocks taking a rash adjuster 14 as the rocking fulcrum. While the roller mechanism is rollingly arranged in an inclined upper edge parts 6d, 6d of the rocker arm, a rolling position on the upper edge part is changed by control cams 17, 17. By so doing, the valve lift amount of each intake valve is variably controlled. A regulating member 24 for regulating useless elongation of a rash adjuster through the abutment of the upper edge part 24c on the control shaft during valve closing operation of the intake valve is provided to both ends of a roller shaft 18.
