Title:
VALVE GEAR OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012122410
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a valve gear of an internal combustion engine that continuously and significantly changing a phase difference between two valves just after the start.

A camshaft has a double structure including an outer shaft 2 and an inner shaft 6. A first cam 4 is directly fixed to the outer shaft 2, and a second cam 12 rotatably arranged to the outer shaft 2 is fixed to the inner shaft 6 via a connecting pin 8. A torsion spring 22 is arranged between the first cam 2 and the second cam 12, and torque in the forward rotational direction is applied to the second cam 12 with the outer shaft 2 as the center by the torsion spring 22. This valve gear also has a load torque generating mechanism 50 for generating load torque in the reverse rotational direction in the second cam 12 when rotating the second cam 12. The phase difference of the second cam 12 to the first cam 4 is controlled by changing the load torque by driving the load torque generating mechanism 50 by an electric motor 66.
