Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the yield of a inner shim material and the efficiency of manufacturing a lifter body and reduce the cost while regulating the free rotation of the inner shim to the lifter body in a valve lifter of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:The valve lifter is provided with a lifter body 13 interposed between a drive cam and valve stem and an inner shim 15 fitted in a recess 17 formed on the lower surface of the tip 13a of the lifter body 13. While a projection 18 capable of being crushed is provided on the bottom 17a of the recess 17, a recessed groove 19 which is filled with crushed tip 18a of the projection 18 is formed on the upper surface of the inner shim 15 to regulate the free rotation of the inner shim 15 under the firm locking condition of the crushed tip 18a and recessed groove 19.
