PURPOSE: To provide a valve mechanism for a gas lighter or the like which forces a nozzle housing to be fitted into a valve seat material surely and firmly.

CONSTITUTION: In a valve mechanism for a gas lighter or the like which comprises a nozzle 3, a valve disc 4, a spring 5, a valve seat material 6 and a nozzle housing 2, there is installed an engagement section 15 which is recessed or projected on an inner peripheral surface of the nozzle housing 2 while an engagement section 16, which is recessed or projected, is installed on an outer peripheral surface of the valve seat material 6. When the valve seat material 6 is fitted into the nozzle housing 2, the engagement section 15 is fixed with the engagement section 16.
