Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a valve member for faucet that is able to maintain good slidability for a long period of time without using any lubricant.

CONSTITUTION: A diamond-form carbon film with a minute jog surface is formed on a surface of at least one sheet out of two sliding surfaces of valves 1, 2 being made up of two sheets or three sheets of ceramic disks. The jog surface of this diamond-from carbon film is made up of the following features that it is formed into such a pentagon or more polygonal form as holding a ridgeline in common with one another, or round or oval dimples are connected in a diverse direction in a three-dimensional way otherwise. Likewise, such a pentagon or more polygonal form as holding a ridgeline in common or round or oval diamond-form carbon unit surfaces are three-dimensionally connected in diverse directions for forming granulous cumulations, and these cumulations are further three-dimensionally connected in the diverse directions, so consequently the whole aggregation becomes a spiral pattern.
