A valve plate device 1 is composed of a valve plate 2 having a delivery hole 20 to communicate with a delivery chamber 70 formed in a cylinder head 7 and a suction hole 21 to communicate with a suction chamber 71 formed in the cylinder head 7, a delivery valve 3 to open and close the delivery hole 20, an inlet valve 4 to open and close the suction hole 21 and a retainer 5 to regulate a lift quantity in the opening direction of the delivery valve 3, and at least one among the valve plate 2 and the retainer 5 is formed of a resin member. Therefore, since at least the valve plate is molded by the resin member, rust preventive processing is obviated, and weight of the whole device can be reduced, and a noise generated when the delivery valve collides with the valve plate molded by the resin member and the retainer, can also be relieved.
